Miss McKenzie of Baincsse is tho guest of her sister, Mrs B. Stevens, Mahara , Mount Richards Road. Miss Rachel Port of Mount Kichaids Road is at present spending her holidays at home, * , , „ Mrs and Mr .T. E. Wingate and M ss Doris Wingate of "Cainsmore Mount Richards Road, are the guests of Mis J. H. Kibblewhite, Hatuma, Waipukurau. Miss Marjorie Cameron of Te Kuiti is at present visiting Miss Ngaira Coup, Utuwai. Miss K. Coup of Foxton spent the week-end with her parents at Utuwai and is now visiting Masterton. Basketball. On Tuesday last, Mount Richards Road and Pohangina basketball teams met each other on the Mount Richards Road grounds in a friendly challenge. In spite of slightly inclement weather, a good game was played, Mount Richards Road winning 15-2. Mr A. N. Roberts acted as referee for the match. A splendid afternoon tea was served in an empty house lent by Mr J. E. Wingate. Miss Howell suitably voiced appreciation of the afternoon’s enjoyment on behalf of the Pohangina team, Miss N. Coup replying for Mount Richards Road, thanking the Pohangina players for venturing out for the gamo on such an indifferent The Mount Richards Road team (Kia Ora) consisted of: Forwards, Misses R. Duffy, A. Fort, A. Batchelar; centres, Misses G. Port, N. Coup, A. Roberts; defence,' Misses B. Wingate, I. Roberts, R. Duffy Before the end of the afternoon a second friendly game was played between the two . teams, Kia Ora winning again by 11 goals to 2. Ping Pong. Last Tuesday night the Mount Richard!; • Road' ping pong team journeyed to 'Pohangina for a friendly ping pong rpatch. Though they suffered a decided beating, an enjoyable evening was spent by all.
