Feilding Stock Sale
The N.Z. Farmers’ Co-op. Distributing Co., Ltd., Feilding, report on the Feilding sale:— “We submitted a, good yarding of fat ewes, the quality being better than at late sales. Prices were firm at late rates. Fat hoggets firmed slightly. Wethers were of medium quality and demand was slack. Store hoggets were hardly up to last week’s prices. Avery heavy yarding of fat cattle was irregular of sale. Dairy heifers were quitted by vendors at lower rates. “Quotations: Prime heavy fat ewes, 19s to 19s lOd; prime, ISs 6d to 18s lOd; lighter, 16s to 17s Gd; prime maiden ewes, 22s 6d; fat wethers, 20s to 235; shorn wethers, 15s 6d; fat hoggets, 14s to 15s; lighter, 13s 7d to 13s 9d; wether hoggets, 12s to 14s; medium ditto, 9s 8d to 11s Id; ewe hoggets, ,14s Cd. Cattle: Prime heavy bullocks, £1 os to £8 4s; prime, £6 7s 6d to £7 4s; plain, £5 10s to £6; prime heifers, £4 6s to £4 15s; lighter, £3 2s 6d Ho £4; fat cows, best £3 10s to £4 12s 6d, lighter, £2 10s to £3 7s 6d; forward eows, 38s to £2 6s; forward heifers, £L to £2 9s; springing heifers, £4 to £4 17s 6d; backward 3orts, £2 10s to £3 10s; dairy cows, backward, £3 to £3 3s; store cows, £1 to 295; yearling Jersey heifers, £1 9s to £2 11s.
