Obituary

MR H. J. 11. BLOW.

Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Aug. 23. The death has occurred of Mr H. J. 11. Blow, formerly Under-Secretary for Public Works. The late Mr Blow, who was born in London in 1855, was educated at Arnold House School, Brighton, England whero he passed his junior and senior civil service examinations. At the age of 17 he came to New Zealaand and in the following year entered the Government service as a clerk in the Public Works Department. lie was appointed Under-Secretary to the Department in 1891 and retired from the service in 1916. His wife, a daughter of Mr Gregory E. Eussell, predeceased him in 1922 and he leaves a family of three sons and three daughters.
