Miss Elaine Prior and her brother lan, son and daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Norman Prior, of Masterton, are the guests of tho Rev. and Mrs. E. O. Blamires, Feilding. Mrs. W. Jameson, of Waipukurau, who has been paying a round of visits to friends in Patea and Wanganui, is spending a few clays in Feilding before returning to Hawke's Bay. Miss Dorothy Sargisson, who was a Feilding visitor to Wellington for the inter-collegiate football ball on Saturday night, returned homo l on Wednesday. Miss Noelino Harding, who was a visitor to Wellington for tho inter-vei-logiate football tournament and dance and was tho guest of Mrs. D. Morrison, Highland Park, is now back in Feeding. Mrs Frances Mary Spcakman, of Newmarket, Auckland, celebrated her 102nd birthday on Tuesday. She was born in the Berkshire village of Appleford, near Oxford, on August 22, 1831. She is confined to bed now, but! she is still in possession of all her' faculties, although her eyesight is failing somewhat. Mr and Mrs O’Hagan, of Reid’s line, Bunnythorpc, will have tho sympathy of many friends in tho sadness that has come to them. Their daughter, Mrs Neylon, of To Awamutu, passed away, suddenly on Tuesday morning and on that afternoon Mr O'Hagan was eu route to Whangarei to attend the ! funeral of his sister. The funeral of Mrs Neylon is to take place at Bunnytliorpe this morning. On Monday evening a meeting of tho staff of Community Stores, Ltd., was held, when it was decided to hold a ball at the Mayfair Cabaret next month, tho proceeds to bo handed to tho Mayor’s relief fund. A committee, with Mr A. Jamieson as lion, secretary, was appointed to carry out the arrangements. Bridge and other card games will be provided for non-dancers in tho lounge, and a first-class band has already been engaged. Mr Mackie presided at the meeting. During their recent visit to Samoa, Miss Enid (Wellington) and’ Miss Marjorie McFarlano (Auckland were invited to play a golf match against Fiji. The match resulted in a. draw. Ail exhibition match was also arranged, Miss Bell representing New Zealand and Miss Field, Suva. This match was won by New Zealand. The Suva Golf Club was most hospitable, and anxious for an opportunity to play a New Zealand ladies’ team. The links were excellent and fho weather perfect.
