CITY COUNCIL EMPLOYEES VISIT PLIMMERTON
Tbs annual picnic of tho Palmerston North City Council employees was held at Plimmerton yesterday. Tho weather conditions proved ideal, and tho picnic i.was an undoubted success. A special 'train was provided to convey the holidaymakers to tho beach and over 800 took advantage of the facilities offered for an enjoyable outing. An extensive programme of swimming, games and sports had been arranged, and the various events were keenly contested by the employees and their numerous friends who were present at the picnic. The programme was conducted in an efficient manner and there were no dull moments for anyone. Detailed results of the sports events are as follow : Married Men (employees): J. Burgess 1, 11. Married Men (open): A. Matthews 1, R. Foster 2, W. Cantlon 3. Married Ladies (open): Mrs. T. Fallon 1, Mrs. A. Davis 2, Mrs. J. McSwceney 3. Three-legged Race: Mr. A.
