The World's Richest Girl
The richest girl in the world is Miss Barbara Hutton, the 19-years old Woolworth heiress, grand-daughter of the mau wro founded the 3d and 6d retail shops, and whose share of this fortune amounts to the staggering • figure of £10,000,000. Barbara Hutton is a charming blonde with a piquant oval face, large expressive eyes, and a small but pretty mouth. Sho talks vivaciously. She is appealingly feminine. And her vast wealth leaves her completely unspoiled. Some time ago Aliss Hutton visited Japan and China. She hecame interested in Chinese poetry, and began to learn the language. She also reads Japanese with considerable facility.
With her in London she has an enormous collection of gramophone records, which she has gathered from all parts of the world. Alost of them are classical numbers. Very few are jazz. “I am absolutely mad about music, especially Chinese music,” she said. ‘‘When I want to recapture the spirit and atmosphere of some of the places I have visited, I simply put one or tho records on my gramophone.” Aliss Hutton i's a good horsewoman and a clever swimmer. For most other sports sho has little interest.
She is an avid reader and had most of her books specially selected for her. Her favourite author is Galsworthy. Sho does not care much for parties, though she sometimes goes to them. She gives large sums of money ho various charities. One of her ambbitions is to collect old furniture.
