Remarkable Razors.

Has Britain’s oldest active razor been found? Letters received by the Sunday Dispatch disclose that a 40-year-old razor in Sheffield is a mere infant. One correspondent brandishes a razor which he has used regularly for 40 years, which his father used for 40 years before hjm—and which his grandfather used for years before that. This patriarch of razors is the property of a solicitor and it is one of a pair of blades which have been in use by his family for at least 200 years.

Mr George Duguid, of Hull, has a Sheffield razor which lias been in certain use for at least 45 years without being re-set. Mr E. J. McDermott, of Oldham, has one which was handed down by his grandfather and wa.s used by his father 52 years ago. Mr Harry Clarke, a West Bromwich hairdresser, mentions a customer who has a 51-ycar-old razor.

Writing from Carlisle, a former sergeant of the Cape Infantry Regiment states that lie is still using the razor ho bought in South Africa in ISS3.' A. correspondent from Marlborough, Miltshire, has one which has been in continuous use for 70 years. Readers iu Nottingham, Cardiff and Warwickshire say that their razors have seen 50, 7S, and 71 years’ service.
