Per Press Association. NELSON, July 23. Tho impression is sometimes given by visitors that the apple and tobacco industries afford exceptional apportunities to outsiders for employment in the Nelson district. Mr. G. Page, the chairman of the Nelson Unemployment Committee, stated to-day that, to save disappointment, it should be realised that the opportunities for maximum employment were purely seasonal, extending over two or three months in tho year, and at no timo since the slump commenced had all the local unemployed been absorbed. At the present time, added Mr. Page, there were 068 registered unemployed in Nelson and tho surrounding districts.
