MR. JUSTICE ADAMS, one o, Lie Judges of the Supreme Court Bench, who has been granted twelve months leave of absence prior to retirement.
Mr. Howard Hunter, manager of the Classic clothing factory, Auckland, left last Monday for an extended visit tc Australia where he intends to study the methods adopted by the most up-to date manufacturing concerns there. Mr. George Winborn, who is employed by Mr. W. A. Coombs, of the i’oliangina district, was admitted to the Palmerston North Hospital yesterday as tho result of an injury sustained when an axe he was using .slipped and cut his hand. bcvcrai stitches had to be inserted, and the patient’s condition was reported to be satisfactory last evening.

A report from Hollywood, California, states that Florenz Ziegfcld, tho noted stage impressario, died last night from a sudden heart attack, following apparent recovery from a pulmonary and nervous disorder. Born in Chicago in ISG9, Air. Ziegfcld achieved remarkable success as a producer, and his “Follies” were known by people the world over. He staged such outstanding successes as “Sally,” “Rio Rita,” “Show Boat” and “W T hoopec,” the latter being the most pretentious effort of his famous career. In 1913 he married Billie Burke, musical comedy actress, well known on the London and New York stages, and later as a silent film player. In July, 1929, Horenz Ziegfcld became associated with Samuel Goldwyn, in the production of motion pictures.
