M. LitvinoiE introduced seven amendments at the Disarmament Conference, one demanding tho insertion of a clause reducing armaments in all categories by at least 33 1-3 per cent., which was rejected by 30 votes to live, with 1(5 countries, including Italy, abstaining from voting.
Sir John Simon supported yesterday 's resolution as the most hopeful method at present available, also pointing out that more practical methods must be found for preventing the misuse of commercial aeroplanes in time of war. Tho clauses were carried unanimously-
French Interests Safe-guarded CONSEQUENCE OF DISARMAMENT CONFERENCE. LONDON, Jaly 21. The Times says that the results of the Disarmament Conference are generally regarded as safguarding the interests of France.
