Good Competition at Sydney Wool Sales
INCREASED DEMAND BY JAPANESE United Pres 3 Association. —By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. Received Monday, 9.30 p.m. SYDNEY, Jan. 4, At the wool sales 9927 bales were offered, of which 8682 were sold, in addition to 720 disposed of privately. The market was very firm at December closing rates. There was good general competition, all sections operating, with an increased demand on Japanese account. Skirtings were in very keen request. Greasy merino made up to 131 d.
