GOVERNMENT’S FINAL CHALLENGE TO NATIONALIST BODY. DELHI, Jan. 3. The European delegates to the Round Table Conference and moderate Indian, political leaders are making last-min-ute efforts to avoid the threatened conflict between the National Congress and the Government; but the immediate future is black. The country generally is relieved that the pretensions of the Congress to provide a parallel to the Government and interfere with everything are to be linally challenged, as it is felt increasingly that, uutil tlu.s question is decisively settled, India can have no peace aud the Congress is the enemy of all advances to self-govern-ment.
