Mrs. Alec. Williams, of Otano, is on a visit to her mother, Mrs. A. Sugden, of Grey street, Foilding. Dr., Mrs. and Miss Austin, of Wellington, are the guests of Mr. and Mrs. I. W. Scott, of Kimbolton. Mr,'and Mrs. Ivan Davidson, of Wanganui, are spending several days at their residence in Feilding. Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Wilton, of Palmerston North, are visiting Mr and Mrs. D. H. Kilgour, Kiwitca. Mrs. 11. Vickers and Miss Toulson, of Wellington, aro the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Luxmoore, of Kiwitca. Miss Elaine Bailey, of Stanway, is spending a holiday in Wellington and is the guest of her aunt, Mrs. F. Dent. ■ ■Misses G. and D. Hunt, of Feilding, are leaving at the end of the week to spend a month’s holiday at Auckland.

Mr. and Mrs. Harold Lemmon and their infant son have returned to Pending after a visit to Mrs. A. Sugden, of Feilding. ... Mrs.,.A. Thomson and her-two daughters, of Eastbourne, Wellington, are -the-guests of Mrs. M. D. Colquhoiln, of Feilding. Mrs, F. Dent, of Wellington, has returned home after a visit of several weeks to - her sister, Mrs. W. Johnson, of Feilding. •Archdeacon Chattcrton and Mrs. Chattorton, of Rotorua, arc staying with Mrs. C. J. Hill, of' Marlborough street, Feilding. Mrs. Fitzroy Horneman, . Miss May Horncman and Miss Patricia Goodbcliero left Feilding by ear on Thursday on a visit to Auckland. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Sugden and their little daughter, Patricia, are spending somo weeks with Mrs. A. Sugden, of Grey street, Feilding. Miss Hill, of England, who has been on a visit to Wairakei, Taupo, Rotorua and Waitomo Caves, is -at present the guest, of Mr. and Mrs. J.. Sainsbury, of Kiwitca. Misses Gene and Grace Cummings, of Makino, and Miss Marsden, of Feikling, with a party of friends from Palmerston North, spent the New Year holidays at Tangimoana. A party comprising Misses Agatha Howard, Greta and Graeo Davis (Taumarunui), Nellie Woods (Foxton), May MacLeod, and Ngaire and Beryl Jefferies (Taonui) are holidaying at “Deauville,” Foxton beach.

The engagement is announced of Miss Adele Cornish, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S. H. G. Cornish, of Morrinsville, to Mr. Wilfred Gordon Plummer, son of Mr and Mrs. Plummer, of Epsom, Auckland, and a member of the Times literary staff. Mesdames Dermer, Raymond Walsh fend Knyvett, Misses Meg Knyvett and Maureen Walsh, Mr. Honi Knyvett XFcilding), Mr. and Mrs. T. Amadio (Umutoi), and Messrs. Nelson Ball and Mitchell (Wellington) aro spending a holiday together at Plimmerton. Well known in both the Rangitikei and Podding districts, Mrs. Robert J. Sporle passed ay-ay at Feilding on Friday at the age of 73 years. The deceased lady, who was married twice, was formerly Mrs. John Follett, of Marton, After the death of Mr. Follett she came to Feilding and later married Mr. Sporle. There is left a grownup family of three sons and three daughters. The funeral will take place in Feilding this morning.
