A party comprising Misses Agatha Howard, Greta and Graeo Davis (Taumarunui), Nellie Woods (Foxton), May MacLeod, and Ngaire and Beryl Jefferies (Taonui) are holidaying at “Deauville,” Foxton beach.

The engagement is announced of Miss Adele Cornish, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S. H. G. Cornish, of Morrinsville, to Mr. Wilfred Gordon Plummer, son of Mr and Mrs. Plummer, of Epsom, Auckland, and a member of the Times literary staff. Mesdames Dermer, Raymond Walsh fend Knyvett, Misses Meg Knyvett and Maureen Walsh, Mr. Honi Knyvett XFcilding), Mr. and Mrs. T. Amadio (Umutoi), and Messrs. Nelson Ball and Mitchell (Wellington) aro spending a holiday together at Plimmerton. Well known in both the Rangitikei and Podding districts, Mrs. Robert J. Sporle passed ay-ay at Feilding on Friday at the age of 73 years. The deceased lady, who was married twice, was formerly Mrs. John Follett, of Marton, After the death of Mr. Follett she came to Feilding and later married Mr. Sporle. There is left a grownup family of three sons and three daughters. The funeral will take place in Feilding this morning.
