Hard to Hold

MORE TROUBLE WITH FLOATING DOCK. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Last Night. In the strain caused by tho heavy northerly gale this morning a largo cast iron bollard in the Aotca Quay breast work to which was attached a short mooring chain from the floating dock split in two. The bollard, which is of 2-inch cast iron, broke clean through inside the outer pair of holding bolts and bent the other pair badly, breaking away the concrete on the outer edge ot the breastwork. Members of the Harbour Hoard staff spent the day digging a ditch 0 feet dc-cp by 20 feet in length and about 90 feet back from the edge of the breastwork, and into this will be dropped a heavy baulk of timber to which will be attached the mooring chain which carried away the bollard. No damage was dono to the dock and none of the other mooring was strain**'!
