Salvation Army Picnic
BIG GATHERING AT ASHHURST The Salvation Army Corps ol: the district conducted their annual picnic at Ashhurst- yesterday, when representatives were present from many places, and as far afield' as Napier. Commissioner and Mrs. Cunningham were present, tho Commissioner conducting a well-attended meeting. Music was provided by the united bands, comprised of bandsmen from Palmerston North, Danncvirke, Feiiding and Woodvillo. The picnic was most enjoyable, providing an excellent opportunity for Army friends to gather. Somo who had not met for 40 years had tho privilege of meeting and talking over a variety ol' experiences. Brigadier and Mrs. Cot,trill, the new divisional commanders, w r cre heartily greeted. Major and Mrs. Gray were in charge of tho arrangements for tho day, and the proceedings passed off in a moss satisfactory manner.
