Leisure Scores in Open Sprint
The Marton Jockey Club's summor meeting opened yesterday in fine weather though a slight shower fell during the afternoon. The course was in good order and there was a satisfactory attendance of the public. The Marton Chip was won by Mr. W. H. Gaisford’s 3-year-old. Esteem, the other places being filled by Desert Song and Nightmare. The open sprint was won by Mr. L, H. Collinson’s Leisure, which scored from the favourite, Equitant;, and Arikinui. ' The totalisator handled £9052 for the seven races, as against £16,029 10s for eight races on the corresponding day last year, the decrease being £6977 10s, following are the detailed results:—
