Adjutant De Frayssinet, a 28 year old pilot, has been awarded the Legion of Honour under exceptional circumstances. The pilot signalled me passenger to jump, and prepared to follow when he noticed the passenger’s parachute was entangled in the fuselage. Despite the flames, De Frayssinet enmbed back and levelled the aeroplane, enabling it to maintain sufficient height for the passenger’s descent uninjured.' Meanwhile, De Frayssinet, fearing an ordinary landing would cause the rush of air to envelop him in flames, deliberately crashed against a tree. The passenger rushed to the rescue and they fell into each others arms. The puot partly owes his life to non-inflammable suit.
