No Tenders Accepted for Air Mails
Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, Dec. 16. None of tho four tenders for the carriage of air mails between Auckland and Dunedin has been accepted by the Government. The Postmaster-General, Hon. J. B. Donald, said to-day that unless some more satisfactory offer was made thero would be no chanco of an air mail service. Although it had been mado clear that tho Government would not grant a subsidy yet tho tenders submitted called for a definito grant of a sum out of all reason. It should be clearly understood that tho Government was not going to givo subsidies to enable companies to bo floated.
