WHY WOMEN LOVE COLOUR
QUESTION OF EYESIGHT. Why arc women so particular about the colour of their clothes? And why are men so careless? It was all oxplained in London lately by Mr. Mervyn O’Gorman, vice-president of tlio Eoyal Automobile Club, at a sitting of the Koyal Commissioh on Transport in the House of Lords. Mr. O’Gorman said, he did not think much of the use of coloured fights' in traffic signalling. “Twenty-five per cent of the male population are practically or totally colour blind,” he said. “And you can’t disenfranchise 25 per cent, of the male motorists because of colour blindness.” The chairman, Sir Arthur Griffiths Boscawen: Why male motorists only? ■ Mr. O’Gorman: Because no woman is colour blind. Colour blindness is a thing women can transmit but docs not suffer from herself. That is one of the reasons why men usually do not care about colour in their dress and why women always do. —(Laughter). Mr. O’Gorman said he objected very much to the public being regulated. His suggestion was meant to improve the opportunities to shop-gazers to shopgaze as they liked.
