GOOD ENTRIES FOR RUGBY COMPETITIONS

Forty-four Teams SENIOR B GRADE NOT SUPPORTED SIX SENIOR FIFTEENS.

Excellent entries in all grades were received by the Manawatu Rugby district council last evening, for this season’s rugby competitions. Teams entered were as follow:

6 14 8 5 5 6 No entries wore received from Feilding Agricultural College but it was decided to extend this club latitude in the matter of entries as the closing date had evidently been over-looked. Senior B Grade Not Supported. Only two entries were received for the proposed Senior B competition and ic was accordingly decided that this competition should not be proceeded with. The two teams entered were from Kia Toa and Old Boys and it was accordingly decided that these teams be entered in the junior grade instead of the senior B. Large Junior Grade. In view of the largo number of entries in the junior competition, it was proposed that this grade should be divided into two sections. This proposal was considered and a tentative draw arranged but it was found impracticable. The proposal to divide the grade into two sections was then put in the form of a motion which on being put to the meeting was lost. The competition will therefore be conducted on the same lines as last year. Primary Sixth Grade. When the entries of teams were being considered, Mr. D. J. Trevena. asked whether it would be permissable for the primary schools to enter a fifteen which would be practically a representative team and would play in the sixth grade. Members expressed pleasure at the enterprise of the primary authorities and permission was granted for the entry of the team. ;
