RENTS WILL MORE THAN MEET INTEREST CHARGES

LIBRARY LOAN. “Five of the shops in the mew library building have been let and when one more shop is occupied, the revenue derived from rent will be more than sufficient to meet annual charges for interest and sinking fund on account of the library loan,” announced the Mayor (Mr. A. J. Graham) at the Opera houso last evening. The statement was received with applause. Mr. Graham also mentioned that the council had still to deal with the present library site and ho thought a considerable amount of revenue would be derived from that source. “My statements that the library building would provo a revenue-producing concern have been amply verified,” added the Mayor who also mentioned that in a few week’s time, the new library would be thrown open for inspection.
