LADY NGATA LIES CRITICALLY ILL

Per Press Association. GISBORNE, Last Night. Tlio Inspector of Health, has been notified of an outbreak of dysentery amongst Maoris in the Waiapu district, as a result, it is believed, of the disease being brought from Ngaruawahia, where a recent big hui was held. The first victim was Mr. Makarini Ngata, son of Sir Apirama Ngata, who succumbed last week. Two other cases now reported in the district are stated to bo of a similar nature, one of the patients being Lady Ngata, who, worn ou> by the terrible trial of nursing her late son to the end, also became afflicted and now lies at her homo at Waiomatatini in a critical state.
