Through Tempest Over Straits of Gibraltar
HAZARDS NOT YET OVER. Received Friday, 7.35 p.m. MADRID, Jan. 4. Lady Bailey arrived at Alicante safely, after a hazardous flight, during a tempest, over the Strains of Gibraltar. Belgian Record Broken SIXTY HOURS PASSED , ON THURSDAY NIGHT. United Service. Received Friday, 8.40 p.m. LOS ANGELES, Jan. 3. In the world refuelling endurance flight, the Belgian-made record of 60 hours and seven minutes was broken on Thursday night by the United States army tri-motored Fokker monoplane, Question Mark, which is carrying four men. Majjor Carl Spatz, who who is commanding, hopes to continue the flight for a week or more through refuelling from other planes. German Record Next to go. 65 i HOURS BEATEN BY QUESTION MARK. Received Saturday, 2 a.m. LOS ANGELES, ,Jan. 4. The 'plane Question Mark broke the German-made world endurance record of 65 hours 25 minutes and is still flying.
