FIRST DEFINITELY FORECASTED BUDGET DEFICIT SINCE WAR
Big Loss Anticipated For American Treasury EXPENDITURES UP AND TAX COLLECTIONS DOWE United Press Association —By Eleotrif Telegraph—t Copyright. Received Monday, 7.5 p.m. WASHINGTON, August 27. The Director of the Budget, Mr. Lord, submitted that In Ms estimation the Treasure would suffer a deficit of 94,279,34 s dollars in 1929. This deficit, which is tho first- definitely forecasted since the war, is due to increased Governmental expenditures and decreased tax collections.; The valances in the estimate from those made earlier are due to increased plans for the activities of Government bureaus and lower receipts than those expected from most incoming sources. The increases shown in general expenditures, postal deficiency and the expenses of tho Shipping Board, Government Life Insurance, Life Fund, Alien Property Funds, Customs,. a—J Internal Revenue receipts nave decreased considerably. ,
