OLD LINEN

A supply of old linen is useful for patching and mending, as tho stitch in time often gives a now lease of life to some threadbare article of the linen cupboard. Oddments, too, arc useful in tho sick room for emergency bandages, poultices, etc.

Old tablecloths, when they can be no longer darned or patched, can be cut down into traycloths, sideboard cloths, carving cloths, nursery dinner napkins, etc. Pieces of damask also make excellent pantry towels for drying glass and silver.
