Tile monthly meeting of the Manawatu executive of the Boy Scouts’ Association ivas held last evening. There was present, Messrs N. D. Stubbs (in the chair), J. H. McDowell, P. T. Vasey, H. J. Simmonds, A. H. M. Wright, A. G rigor, C. H. White, F. Carpenter, L. Doy, F. Cutler, C. Hands, Misses Coles and Newman, Mrs Elliott and Scoutmaster Facer. Commissioner D. E. The general secretary of the Association wrote stating that Sir Robert Baden Powell had decided to withdraw Peter’s Polo for Wolf Cubs from competition. To Awe Awe pack, the holders, would therefore bo required to forward the trophy back to general headquarters by September 110 of this year. The annual report of the Central Troop which was laid on the table, stated that the year just past, had, on the whole, been very satisfactory from the view point of work done by the troop. The report mentions with regret the approaching departure from the district of Scoutmaster F. W. Cutler. A farewell social had been tendered Mr Cutler, at which he had been presented with a fountain pen by members of the committee in recognition of his good work done while acting as scoutmaster for just over twelve months. Scoutmaster C. Hands submitted the annual scoutmasters’ report on the workings of the troop. Both reports were adopted. Mr Vasey reported upon preliminary arrangements made for the proposed scouts’ camp to be held in Palmerston North from June 2i. The monthly reports of scoutmasters were received. Air White asked that scoutmasters furnish him with the names of likely players for inclusion in the Palmerston North Scouts team to play Wanganui for Mrs Potts’ challenge shield.
