A mysterious street siege occurred in the suburb of Peru. The police surrounded a house and demanded the surrender of four men suspected of being concerned In a conspiracy whose nature is not disclosed. Tho men replied with shots, killing an officer and seriously wounding two constables. Sharp fighting followed in which th c conspirators were killed. A large quantity of arms was discovered in the house Indicating an important movement.
