30 APPLICATIONS APPROVES BY LOCAL GOVT. LOANS BOARD

(Per Press Association). WELLINGTON, Last Night. At a meeting of the Local Government Loans Board yesterday thirty applications for loans totalling £492,315 were dealt with. Three loans amounting to £1,950 for unemployment relief work were sanctioned and on e for £2.800 was do. dined on the ground the loan should be subject to a poll of ratepayers. Four renewal loans for £219,000 mere sanctioned to the extent of £213,872. Balances to be paid off eighteen now loans amounting to £221,165 were also sanctioned to the extent of £169,43 5, subject to conditions where the Board considered such desirable.

Four other loans amounting to £47,400 were either declined or referred back to the local authorities concerned.
