MUTTON AND LAMB TREATMENT
NONE BETTER THAN NEW ZEALAND. “In connection with mutton and lamb, I did not see any better dressing or treatment than is done in New Zealand, but I am informed that both the quality of production and treatment as regards mutton and lans'b in South America is improving rapidly,” says Mr J. R. Cramsle. of Sydney who is on his way to Australia after a twelve months’ tour of the meat producing countries of the world. “There must be no slackness in either New-Zealand or Australia if they are to maintain the respective places they hold in the markets of the world to-day. “I was delighted during my inspection of Great Britain to find a wondcifnl Improvement m Smithficld, the world’s greatest meat market, and the various ports jni commercial centres as regards unloading and stoiage facilities as well as methods of distribution, I visitM most of these ports and centres in a 5000-mile motor tour I made through Great Britain, and I feel they have now reached a very efficient stage to the great benefit of overseas meat producers. The methods of distribution and facilities for storage on the Continent have now been brought up to requirements and I anticipate .n increasing demand for frozen meat, more especially if the financial position of Europe can be adiutted.
