The “Daily Chronicle” Paris correspondent says there was a public demonstration in Amiens Cathedral when the Bishop announced the restoration of the famous reliquary taken from the Chapelle des Clarisses, Peronne, during the war. The reliquary contained the bones of six Saints and martyrs, enclosed in a gold box, bearing the seal of Pope Clement NIL A British soldier found the box m the ruins of a church at Peronne and saved it a the risk of his life, as the Germans were seeking the reliquary for the gold. The soldier sent the reliquary to Britain, but recently it was returned through the war office and it is now in Amiens Cathedral.
