FEILDING STOCK SALE.
CATTLE MARKET BMPROVES.
There was an exceptionally heavy yarding of cattle, at tile Feilding stock sale yesterday, the outcome, no doubt, of an improving tendency in the beef market. The bulk of the cattle penned comprised young stock of good colours, and not lacking in condition. Fat cattle met with a good sale, cows changing hands at prices up to £lO, and a pen of bullocks was quitted at a shilling less. Store cows experienced spirited competition, at rates in advance of those ruling of late, and good yearling heifers found a ready market, one line realising as much as £4 19./, A fine line of 2-year S.H. heifers made £5 6/. All sheep lines met with good competition. the woolly ones creating much interest. One pen of woolly 2-tooth ewes made £2 8/9, and another £2 5/10. Altogether the sale was most satisfactory, and disclosed a healthy tone all round. Following are the. quotations:— Fat'Sheep: Woolly 2-tooths 42/6; ewes 28/, 28/5. 28/7, 30/, 31/1, to 31/6; wethers 28/6 to 38/; black faces 30/1, 30/10, 32/7, 33/3, to 37/3.
Fat cattle: cows, small and light £4 “il/. £4 15/, £5 1/. £5 5/, £5 7/6, £5 15/, £-6 2/6, to £6 10/; heavier sorts £7, £7 2/, £8 14/, £9 to £10; bullocks, £9 19/; heifers £5, £5 17/, £7, to £8 10/; vealers 17/6 to £2 3/6: runners £2 10/ to f 13/6.

Store cattle: Jersey-cross heifers £2 9/; store cows 20/, 25/, 26/, 30/. 35/, 39/, to 40/; forward cows £2 5/, £2 7/, £2 8/, £2 14/, £2 16/, £3 10/, £3 12/,- £3 15/6. to £4; steers 35/, 40/. 42/. £3 17/G, to £6 7/-6; cows and calves £2 9/6 to £3 4/; P.A. yearling heifers 35/ to 48/G; yearling Jersey heifers 21/, 24/, 28/, £2 16/, £3 5/, to £4 19/; 2-year S.H. heifers £5 6/, other 2-year pens £2 3/ to £2 10/; station cows £3 14/; P.A. cows £3 18/6; P.A. steers £2 10/6; bullocks £5 15/; 2-year Hereford steers £4 19/6; other 2-year steers £3 11/: Hereford and P.A. heifers 36/ to £3 1/; Holstein yearling heifers 37/6.
