The Federal Grand Jury, at the instance of the Oil Committee has indicted Mr Sinclair for contempt on the ground of the latter’s refusal to testify. Mr Sinclair contends that no Congressional investigating committee haS authority to compel a witness ‘o divulge his private affairs. This question has never been decided by the Courts and Sinclair has expressed his determination to carry the case to the highest tribunal in order to determine the extent of such a committee’s powers. ■
