END OF THE RAINBOW
MB THEODORE FINDS HIS POT OF MONEY. [By Electric Cable—Copyright,] [Aust. and N.Z. Cable Association.] (Received Tuesday, 9.45 p.m.) LONDON, April 1. The “Financial Times” , says the terms of Mr Theodore's settlement will surprise most people, because they do not Involve any immediate cash consideration on either side nor reference to the contentious point of arbitration. As the interests concerned are satisfied, the settlement should remove all fear from investors' minds. The “Financial News” says that neither side recedes in the slightest degree from the position taken up all along. “A benefit is conferred as the result of an undertaking not to repeat the act which one party to the transaction still considers illegal. This strikes us as not only a somewhat negative benefit, but one raising a rather startling proposition in law.”
