RONGOTEA NOTES.
The Rongotea Horticultural Society’s annual autumn show will be held on April 9th and the final committee meeting to make the, necessary arrangements was held on Friday evening last, Mr J. C. Glover presiding over a fair attendance of members. At a previous meeting a number of' judges were appointed, subject to acceptance, and the secretary, "Mr L, H. Yarrall, stated that a number of satisfactory replies had been received. Mr Yarrall also reported an unusual demand for schedules. The prize fund has been very generously contributed to, and the chairman declared that more money had been donated for this autumn show than on any previous occasion. It was decided to offer several special prizes in addition to those mentioned in the schedifle, and to advertise these in the newspapers, when the ordinary advertisements ar e inserted. The committee anticipate a large number of entries In the section for dahlias, provided there are no severe frosts within the next few days. Numerous exhibits have also been promised for the fruit section, including some for exhibition only. A musical programme for the evening is also being arranged.
