THE DAIRY SEASON.
PAY-OUTS FOR AUGUST. The pay-outs of the various dairy companies for the month of August, which arc to bo made to-day, will be based on the following rates:— Ravcnswood (cheese) 1/54 per lb; Tiakitahuna (cheese) 1/8; Manawatu Roliance (cheese) 1/8; Awahuri 1/6; Kairanga 1/5; Newbury 1/6. The Rongotea Company paid out £4BOO, based on the rate of 1/6 per lb. Tho Shannon Dairy Company paid out at 1/6 per lb, and this, together with an extra ljd over the whole of last season, made the amount paid out between £II,OOO and £12,000. The New Zealand Farmers' Dairy Union has advanced a payment ot £5770 3/5, being at the rate of 1/54 per lb butter-fat. This includes tho cost of collecting the cream at tho farmers' gates. When this butter arrives in England it is expected to, realise a price which will enable an ex. tra payment to be made on the advance. If the prices on the London market retain their present level a further Id per lb will be available on the month's output.
