Last meeting of Rangitikei Hunt Club resulted in a profit of about £4OO. At a recent committee meeting Mr F. Paul, caretaker of Marton racecourse, was voted a donation of £5 5/for services, rendered in connection with the meeting. The president (Mill). G. Riddiford) was appointed on the Executive Committee of the New Zealand Hunts Association.

At a. meeting of the committee of the Bay of Plenty Jockey Club, the following programme for the meeting to be held at Tauranga on December 8 was adopted:—Maiden Plate Handicap, 65 sovs. rive furlongs; Maunganui Handicap,. 100 sovs., six furlongs; Tauranga Cup, 150 sovs., one mile and a-quarter; Railway Handicap, SO sovs., six furlongs; Herries' Memorial Handicap, 100 sovs., seven furlongs; County Stakes, 80 sovs., six furlongs; Bay of Plenty Welter, 100 sovs., one mile; Flying Handicap, 125 sovs., six furlongs. THE AUCKLAND TRACKS. TUESDAY MORNING AT ELLERSLIE. Owing to the rain overnight and on Tuesday morning, the work at Ellerslie was confined to the sand. Bretland, not doing his best, ran five furlongs in 1.12 moving nicely. Lady Merriwee, from the same post, took 1.9 Shortland ran thre furlongs in 39scc. Pompey did the last four furlongs of useful work in 56sec. Jolly Gay covered six furlongs in 1.21, Pukemarama went over half a mile in 52sec, Fair Abbey occupying 61 3-5 sec. Penona worked at sound pace over seven furlongs. Greekson moved over seven furlongs at a useful pace, the last six occupying 1.26, Smoke Concert did a similar task, the last six taking 1.25. Opaloid easily beat Bright Gift over a round in 1.59 3-5. Boomerday was going more easily than Gala Day over six furlongs covered in 1.22. Native Girl was timed to run half a mile in 56 4-ssec. Marble Bell gave Tactician a start, and finished out six furlongs strongly in 1.21 2-5. Amiform and Jurt Quietly ran six furlongs in 1.21. Tactful and Bute Sound finished up half a mile in 51 4-ssec, former pleasing most. Miss Melva got through sound work over a round. Lord Thurnham was better than Niblick over five furlongs run in 1.18 4-5. Daddy's Girl defeated a companion over seven furlongs in 1.36. Gold Plane, Shebang, and White Comet were practically together at the end of five furlongs in 1.9. Poteen and Polini, from almost a standing start, registeredn similar time. Oa.klads and White Ranger covered a circuit in 2.3 4-5. Sentinella. with a light boy up, pleased the onlookers by running seven furlongs in 1.32 2-5. Day Guard was going nicely in cornpay with Hohoro a.t the end of half a mile covered in 56 Canowindra did six furlongs In 1.22 2-5, JKralf occupying 1.23 1-5. Pebble II did a round in 2.9 3-5. Hokemai took 1.53 3-5 for the last mtile of "a circuit. Lady Bruce was better than Mary Bruce in a round run in 2.3. Na.mutere and Lady Kerman were sprinted separately, but were.not after time. Useful work was also done toy Cool Stimulants, Pavo, Charlady, Penlagram, Right and Left, Nocturne, Muria, Narrow Neck, Drawbridge, Knighthood, Importer, Steel Bar, Prettyman, Blanche and Soulterina.

Elstow (Rutherford) jumped a couple of fences in the centre nicely, and then repeated the performance. Scottish Knight (M. D. O'Shca) and "Royal Fame (Roach) were schooled over six hurdles, both fencing safely.

WORK AT AVONDALE. The course proper, with the trestles wide out, was open a.nd although the going was a bit soft, it was splendid for galloping. Uncle Ned and Arch Laddie beat Brodick over a mile in 1.59, Arch Laddie going nicely. Larrikan easily beat Aerofortis over five furlongs covered in 1.9. Royal Present with a light weight, was going easily alongside Illumination at the end of nine furlongs run in 2.12 2-5, the last mile takig 1.58 2-5. Refinement was slightly better than Sheffield at the end of five furlongs, which was covered in 1.7 4-5. (Glen Canny gave Bonny Canny and Perfect Day two lengths start over seven furlongs, and finished with Bonny Canny, with Perfect Day a length away, the time being 1.41 4-5, Archie beat Dancing poll by over seven furlongs

run in 1.40 4-5. Highland, with a light weight in the saddle, and assist* od by Lucius over the last five furlongs and a half ran a mile in 1.56. Praiseworthy pleased better than Gold Jacket over six furlongs in 1.25. Queen March ran six furlongs in 1.22 4-s—a good gallop. Son o' Mine oprinted two furlongs along the back in 25 4-5 sec. Odd Sox covered three furlongs along the back in 42 2-5 sec. Voltore ran two furlongs along the back, wit ha big weight in the saddle; in 27 4-5 sec. Pingoland covered five furlongs nicely in 1.8 2-5. Ruapapa, Highway, and Chaplin also worked.
