SPANISH MINISTERS UNDER CLOUD.

WHOLE CABINET IMPEACHED.

[By Electric Cable —Copyright.] [Aust. and N.Z. Cabls Association.] (Received Wednesday, 7 p.m.) MADRID, September 17.

General Derivera, in replying to a letter from the ex-Premier the Marquis do Alhucemas, permits him to reside where he chooses, and trusts the legal proceedings against his Government, which had displayed the worst vices, will show that Alhucemas himself is not responsible, as everybody admits his personal honesty. The ex-Premier Senor Guerra has issued a statement defending the Conservative Party, of which he is the leader. He declares it was the upholder of the Constitutional monarchy and any Parliamentary institutions, which were confronted by rebellion in the country. He disapproves of the wild attack by the new rcgimo against the honor of all the old organised parties. The statement concludes that Conservatives will place no obstacle in the path of the new regime, but will withdraw from politics, pending the realisation of the dreams of those responsible for the present adventure or the arrival of terrible disasters.

It is unofficially reported that the ex-Ministers have been arrested. A decree issued by the Directory prohibits gambling in clubs or military messes.

REPORT NOW DENIED

(Received Wednesday, 11.5 p.m ) LONDON, Sept. 19. A report from Barcelona denies the arrest of the Spanish ex-Ministers.
