NORTHERN BOWLING, CROQUET AND TENNIS CLUB.

ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Northern Bowling, Croquet and Tennis Club was held last 'evening, the retiring president, Mr T. R. Hodder, presiding over a large attendance. In moving the, adoption of the annual report and balance-sheet, Mr Hodder stated that the balance-sheet was very good for a new club, .and would compare very favourably with other clubs of the town. On the whole he considered that the club had clone very well indeed, and was in a- quite satisfactory position. The report was adopted. ELECTION OF- OFFICERS. The election of officers for the ensuing season resulted as follows: — President: Mr L. R. Bryant; vice-pre-sidents: Messrs. A. E. Bennett and A. P. Stewart;, general secretary: Mr T. G. Graham. Sectional secretar-ies:-—Bowling: Mr P. Larcomb; croquet: Mrs L. J. Bull; tennis: Mr A. MacGrcgor. Delegates to bowling centre: chairman and Mr T. R. Hodder; auditor: Mr If. F. Wilson. GENERAL. A vole of thanks was accorded the retiring secretary, Mr J''. C. Bryan and Mr G. Bailey, caretaker of the grounds. The latter was again made an honorary member. In regard to the matter of the opening date of the season, it was left to the president and vice-presidents to confer with the caretaker, with a recommendation that the date be September 22. It was decided that the rules be altered, to allow for tho annual meeting to bo held, either in August or September. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded the ladies who provided members with tea during the season. The president and Mr A. E. Bennett were authorised to sign the lease with the Borough Council. The chairman and Mr T. R. Hodder were elected to represent the club on the committee managing tho grounds. A vote of thanks was accorded Messrs. Abraham and Williams for the use of their rooms.
