FEILDING NOTES.

The street sale in aid of the funds of the Lytton Street School yesterday realised £3l 17/3. It was decided at the meeting- of the Feilding Borough Council that the running of the swimming baths is to be left in the harms of the Swimming Club. As there has been an annual loss of £4O, it is hoped the club will by pushing the sale of season tickets and other up-to-date methods, make a success of the baths. The Feilding Borough Council have decided to prosecute the vandals who are destroying or damaging tire Council’s gardens, and it is to be hoped this notice win act as a deterrent. Parents and friends of the Lytton Street School are reminded of the working bee to be held at the school grounds this afternoon. It is proposed to finish the laying of the concrete and continue the work on the beds. It was unfortunate for the success of the street stall that such a wet day eventuated, but, notwithstanding, good business was done, and the ladies are to ue congratulated on sticking to their work in the face of the wet weather. FEILDING SALE. BIG PRICE -• OR LAMBS. The wet weather, while appreciated by farmers, militated against a large entry of stock and a large attendance of buyers at the Feilding sale yesterday. There was a very small yarding of fats and prices were on a par with late rates. Ewes 23/- to 27/8, wethers 28/- to 29/7. A choice line of black-faced lambs forwarded by Mrs Cousins were bought by Mr R. A. Port at the splendid price of 39/3. There were no fat bullocks nor cows forward. Stores. —The smallest yarding for some time. Ewes with lambs at foot 27/. to 27/10; light ewes, 14/2; cows, 33/- to 50/-. Young cattle were in even better demand than on Wednesday last, choice yearling heifers making £5 4/to £0; ordinary, £2 5/- to £4 7/-. Dairy cattle were few in number and not of the best quality. Springing cows made up to £7; springing heifers, good £6 4/6 to £lO 2/6; cows in milk. 37/6 to £4. BIG ATTRACTIONS AT THE LYCEUM. To-day’s programme at the Lyceum should satisfy the most critical and exacting week-enders. There are special attractions both at the matinee and in the evening. The photoplay is from Harold McGrath’s novel, “A Splendid Hazard,” also a Charlie Chaplin comedy in the afternoon. Then, in living vaudeville, Ling and Long provide one of the most dainty, funny, and clever vaudeville acts that have been seen on the Fuller circuit for some time. Mamie Ling is dainty and charming, while Long has a laugh in every inch of him —he’s about 6ft 4in. The Lyceum is certainly to be congratulated on its enterprise in securing this clever couple, who make their last public appearI ance in New Zealand at the Feilding Theatre.
