Rumania Calls for Help.

In the Rumanian Parliament M. Basilesco said that he believed that the motives of the Central Powers were to crush Rumania. Victory would consolidation of German mastery from the North Sea to the Persian Gulf, the invasion of Russia from the.south via Bessarabia, the control of the Black Sea and[perhaps \a decisive victory in the east; also the securing of vast Rumanian stares'of corn, petroleum, benzine, mineral oils, salt, and timber goods, the railways system and the Danube •rtansport, besides crops.

M. B.asilesco exhorts the Allies to do theiv utmost'' to protect Rumania, thereby shortening the war and saving millions of lives and hundreds of millions in money.
