AUCTION SALES.

Harry Palmer and Co. anounce the last two days of Carter and Co.'a drapery sale. Saturday will be absolutely the last day of the sale, and Messrs. Carter and Co. urge the public to come along and secure some of the many bargains offering. STOCK REPORTS.

Messrs. Wright, Stephenson and Co. Ltd. report having held their weekly sale at Pahiatua on Tuesday. A good yarding of cattle was offered to' a representative attendance of buyers, consequently competition was keen and a good clearance was made at the 1 following prices:—forward cows £7 lis, £7 13s 6d to £9, fat and forward heifers to £8 12s 6d, yearling heifers £4 6s, yearling steers £2 18s, store cows £5 15s up to £7 10s, cows and calves £7 10s to £8 2s 6d. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company Ltd. report: At Pahiatua on Tuseday we had a small entry of sheep and a good one of cattle. The cattle compxised principally good quality dairy heifers and cows, and these meeting with good competition, good prices were realised. We quote: Mixed aged ewes and lambs 33s 7d, backward store ewes 22s 9d, springing heifers £lO 17s 6d, £lO ss, £lO to £B, second calvers £l3 ss, store cows £7 5s to £7 10s, yearling steers £4 19s, yearling Holstein bulls £6 10s to £8 10s, 2-year Holstein bulls £l2.

The Wairarapa Farmers' Co-opera-tive Association, Ltd., report on their stock sales during the past week as follows: —

At Hopelands last Wednesday, we held a most successful clearing sale of cows and heifers, on account of Mrs C. J. Davidson. The cows were yarded in good condition. The cows averaged £l3 2s 6d, and heifers £9 2s 6d. AH classes of sundries sold exceptionally well. At Pahiatua last Tuesday we offered a small yarding of sheep and cattle to a very appreciative attendance of buyers. With the exception of a few springing heifers, wc effected a total clearance at prices well in favour of the vendor. We quote as follows: — 42 mixed hoggets 305,52 do. 275, 43 ewe hoggets 27s 3d, 59 ewes with lambs 375; springing heifers, £6 10s to £ll 10s; empty cows, £6 19s 6d to £7 ss; yearling heifers, £4 4s. | . At Konini yesterday we held a most successful clearing sale of cows, sheep, horses, implements, etc., on account of Mr P. Jensen: Prices obtained for cows, we think, will constitute a record for the district. A nice crossbred cow showing a lot of quality brought £26; several others made in the vicinity of £l9 and £2O; the whole heard .of 46 cows averaging the satisfactory price of £l4 ss. The prices ranged from £7 10s to £26; yearling heifers £5 7s 6d; a Jersey bull gns; fat wethers, 39s 6d; porkers, £2 7s, £2 ss, £1 lis. 6d; slips, 31s 6d; sows, £6 15s, £6 lis, and £5; a boar, £5 2s 6d; calves, 355; horses, £29 ss, £27; L.K.G. milking plant and engine, £120; spring dray, £l3 ss; plough, £l3; mower, £l3 15s; discs, £ll 10s; harrows, £5 and £5 ss; hay-rakes, £6 2s 6d. Numerous other implements and sundries sold at exceptionally satisfactory prices.
