THE GERMAN ADVANCE

Received 12.30 a.m. LONDON, Aug. 12. The Times' correspondent says the second line consists of nine Army Corps, which includes the 11th and 3rd at Verviers. The 12th and 3rd Bavarians are eschelonned behind the Bth Army Corps at Luxemburg on the railway line from Mersch to Troisverger. The 13th and Ist Bavarians are at Saarbruck. The Guards 'probably are advancing from Coblenz, the 18th from Mainz, and the 14th from Baden. This gives seven- I teen Corps, aggregating 1,000,000 men which the Kaiser is able to launch against Northern France and Belgium. The majority are advancing on the Belgians at Ardennes in very close formation. The Germans probably believe the nVdQt made it difficult for the French ftfld artillery to assert their preeminence. The 21st German Army Corps is between Metz and Saarburg, the 15th at Strasburg and Neubreisch, while the six corps defending the Russian frontier consist of the Ist, 2nd, sth 6th, 7th and 20th. France and her allies should be able to place a line of more men, sabres, guns, and rifles than the attacking forces. The German plan has supreme merit, enabling the mass of the army to act together in any direction. The I natural line of advance is against s Verdun, Mezieres and Namur and Brussels. Received 12.50 a.m. LONDON, Aug. 12, Morning. The Times' military correspondent says the present dispositions of the Germans show that twenty army eorps are ready to advance, including eight corps which are at Lorraces, of a total iof 1,275,000 men, whereof there are 783,000 rifles, 65,000 sabres, 4,416 guns and 1,488 machine guns. The first line consists of eight corps whereof the 7th, 9th and 10th are about Liege. The 4th is at Rochefort, and and 19th at Bastogne. Both are entrenched. The Bth is at Luxemburg and the 16th and 2nd Bavarians at Thionville. Received 1 a.m. BRUSSELS, Aug. 12, Morning. The Germans evacuated Lauden and the Belgians have re-occupied it.
