(Our own Representative). MUNICIPAL. ' Interest is keen in municipal matters. Messrs Goodbehere, present Mayor, and J. M. Ongley, a councillor, have been nominated for the Mayoralty. Mr Goodbehere has been uomiuated by Messrs W. Carthew, F. P. Raggitt and J. T. Evans: Mr Ongley, by Messrs J. T. I3;trry, P. Thomson and Jane E. Nicholas. A general committee meeting will be held to-morrow evening to elect four vice-presidents, and discuss business in general. BOWLING. Mr H. Stewart has succeeded Mr J. Chappell for the championship of the club for the season. It is intended to close the green on Saturday next for this sesson. THE MAYORALTY. Mr E. Goodbehere, who is again contesting the Mayoralty, addresses the electors this evening at the Drill Hall. He has some trenchant remarks to make and the meeting should be a full one. ... . ON TOUR. | Mr Charley Barry leaves Feilding to-day on an Old Country tour. He returns at the eud of the year. He was the recipient from a number of friends of a handsome pipe, in- [ dicatrve of wishes for a good trip and safe return. FOOTBALL. Now is the winter of out discontent upon us. Football is about to start. On Saturday Feilding thirds play Palmerston. The team will be selected from: Wliittaker, Cdealand, Sporle, Bird, Waite, StuuiK'l, Duoker, Wenham, Haddleston, Spooner (2), Hewitt, Mexted, Kenrick, Richards, Beuge, Stevens, Kitchen, Neill, Hunter, Redpath and Turner. All player* are requested to attend practice at Denbigh stables at 7.30 this evening. HEREFORDS. Mr E. Short, the well-known breeder, of Parorangi, has just landed a two-year-old and £ tbrte-year-oid heifer, imported from ft well-known English breeder of Herefords. The heifer, Happy i Hilda, has won many prLza* and championships in England and has a heifer calf at foot by Barometer.
