The inspectors in their annual reports to the Board state that the proportion of children in preparatory classes last year was 8551, a decreasing number. While the InspectorGeneral had directed attention to an increase in the Dominion as a whole they warn teachers to keep a look •out for withdrawals of children before reaching the requisite age, or for the too rapid diminution of the standard roll number from Standard 4 to Standard 6.
