OPENING OF HOCKEY SEASON.
FIVE ASIDE TOURNEY ON WEDNESDAY. The 1913 hockey season will be officially opened on Wednesday on tho Show Grounds, when the annual fiv# aside tourney will eventuate. Larg#--entries have been received in tht four grades—no less than thirtythree teams having entered, including representatives from Otaki and Levin and all local clubs. Marton, holders of the Manager's Cup (senfor) are unable to defend their trophy this year and have forwarded it for competition. - At labt night's meeting of th# executive, arrangements were niad« for the tourney. Four grounds will be kept going from 2 p.m., each, match taking a quarter ot an hour. Short, sharp games will therefore b* the order of the day and the occasion should draw a fair attendance of spectators to-morrow. Rivalry is keen, especially amongst the senior® and ladies, and a good afternoon's sport should result. Drawings are as follows: SENIORS. First round: Post Office A. v.
