The Government does not intend to bring down any legislation this session dealing with the employment of children on dairy farms. Something like £8000 extra is to be expended by the Department of Agriculture during the current year on the inspection of dairies, and in the course of their work the inspectors will be able to see for themselves the amount of child labour that is employed and the conditions under which it ia carried on. If as the result of their reports legislation deal- ' ing with the subject is considered i necessary it will be brought down i next session.
