" Scrum " has to acknowledge a complimentary season ticket from the M.R.F.U. Any information in connection with teams if forwarded to the office will receive every publicity, as it is the intention of this journal to advance in every possible way this popular game in Palmerston and surrounding districts.
A meeting of Manawatu Referees' Association was held in Cotton's Rooms last evening. Mr Warden was in the chair, fourteen members being present. Messrs Mundy and Willis were nominated for the secretaryship, the latter being selected. By-laws of the Association were discussed and confirmed. It was decided to draw the attention of N.Z.R.W. to the excellent services rendered by the secretary of the N.Z.R A., in view of having the office made a paid one. Messrs Warden, Manning, Harper t W. H. Maclean, Foote and Evans were declared eligible as referees for interunion matches. A hearty vote of thanks was voted to Mr Payne for his past services as secretary of the Association. The following team will represent Huimai in the match against Palmerston, to be played at Awahuri on Saturday : — J. Hughes, N. Campbell, Carrol (2), Ross, Davis (2), R. TicNae, Hirst, E. Jarvis, Tirna, Wea, Kelly, M. Robertson, and Canol.
