BUILDING SOCIETY.

The thirty-first annual meeting of j Manawatu Permanent Equitable Building and Investment Society was held yesterday at the Society's office. PresentMessrs G J. Scott (chairman), J. A. Nash, J. P. Leary, C, Harden, C. E. Waldegrave, J. P. Coombe, R. N. Keeling, Stockwell, Rev. Baker, Captain Walker, Misses Akers and Moller. The report and balance-sheet were adopted. Messrs Keeling and Aikeh were reelected auditors for the ensuing year. Messrs Nash and Leary were elected directors. i Proposed by Mr J. P. Leary, seconded by Capt. Walker, that £20 be voted to the chairman.—Carried by acclamation. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded to the whole of the directors for the able manner in which they have carried out their duties.
