JACKEYTOWN CONCERT.

On breaking up day the Jackeytown bchool was filled to overflowing, the occasion being the annual school con- ? e ii 3 schoolroom was very tastefully decorated by, Mrs McCully. The prograwow opened with an overture very nwely rendered by Miss A. MoEwen. This part of the programme concluded with an exhibition of the Maori poi dance by a number of the school children, were trained by Miss Norah McEwen. This young lady a.!so gave, a clever exhibition of the double poi. After the supper adjourn-' ment the "Irish Doctor" was staged, and for nearly an hour the audience were convulsed with laughter. Mr Matheson appeared m the title role, and Mr W Stratton was his patient.
