MINERS' STRIKE.

Further Mines Closed

Press Association. Received January 14, 1.28 a.m,

Sydney, Last Night. The trouble in the Newcastle coal trade is extending. Three more collieries, the Rhonda, Northumberland, and Teralba which are effected by the same award of the Arbitration Court as the Northern Extended, have been thrown idle, the men refusing to accept a hewing rate of Is 9d per ton. The Pacific and Cardiff collieries, where work was not resumed since the reduced rate came into operation at the beginning of the year, are also still idle.
